For some countries, the license plate contains small characters to recognize province or city, such as Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. The small characters must be shown clearly in the snapshot used as evidence of traffic violation. This effect cannot be realized by one 6MP camera, which has to cover traffic lanes and traffic light.
The 6MP + 2MP solution is designed to satisfy this need. 6MP camera is used to realize full scene detection, for traffic violation, vehicles recording and tracking. Each 2MP camera is used as snapshot camera, covering one traffic lane.
6MP full scene camera analyzes vehicles and 2MP camera takes snapshots at pointed location when it receives the signal given by 6MP camera.
The result is composed by the trace picture (supported by 6MP camera) and the snapshot (supported by 2MP). It presents complete and clear evidence of traffic violation. And ANPR can be realized in the 2MP camera for special need.
